With Catz at the helm, Oracle continues to inch forward in the “cloud wars”—a race for dominance in the cloud services business. While rivals like AWS and Microsoft still lead, Oracle’s cloud revenue rose 45% to $3.6 billion in the first quarter of its fiscal 2023, and Catz has noted that cloud now accounts for more than 30% of total revenue. Oracle also recently inked key deals like its contract with TikTok and its acquisition of health records company Cerner.
