A leading for-profit health care provider in the United States, Humana provides coverage for upwards of 20 million Americans. The company has grown steadily in recent years, especially as it continues to tap into the lucrative Medicare market, which encompasses more than 5 million Humana members. Aside from Medicare, Humana offers a host of other commercial and specialty health care plans, as well as providing members with access to a network of health care providers across the country. In 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic, Humana was one of several leading health care providers to offer discounts to members reeling with the effects of the virus. In May, the company announced it would waive cost-sharing for Medicare members to see primary-care doctors for the rest of the year.
