SAP

Founded in the early 1970s by former IBM engineers, SAP is a pioneer of computerized accounting, payroll, and production-planning systems for business customers. Since then, the Germany-based company has steadily diversified, particularly since the mid-2000s, through acquisitions and investment in areas including marketing and customer analytics software, cloud computing, and Internet of things.
