Walmart

Walmart is the world’s largest company by revenue, according to the 67th edition of the Fortune 500. The retail giant owns and operates more than 10,500 markets, discount department stores, and grocery stores in 24 countries. Walmart is also the world’s largest private employer, with more than 2.3 million workers globally, of which there are nearly 1.6 million in the U.S. alone. In recent years, the company has continued to pursue its goals of zero carbon emissions in its operations by 2040 and the use of 100% renewable energy by 2035. In 2019, Walmart purchased more wind power capacity and installed more solar than any other company in the U.S., and is currently the largest on-site green power generator in the country. As of April 2021, the company began administering COVID-19 vaccines at more 5,100 locations in 49 states plus Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.
